RICCARDO TOCCACIELO
Riccardo Toccacielo was born in 1979, is a sound lover, sculptor, theater and movie actor as well as a record vinyl collector. He studied computer science and immediately developed a passion for electronics applied to different forms of art. An enthusiast for German Krautrock composition and italian avant-garde music. Began to play cello in 2010, the same year, he begins his theatre training with different masters. During this period, he carried out extensive studies of John Cage and Erik Satie. For the centenary of John Cage, in 2012, he staged a theatre show built on the ideas of sound and silence in Cage’s works and began to create different artworks as a tribute to Erik Satie. Listening to Demetrio Stratos, Riccardo discovered his passion for a particular instrument: the voice. He began studying overtone singing and, in 2014, he presented “The Cruelty of Sound”, a performance in which he was able to combine the artistic figures Antonin Artaud, Vladimir Majakovskij and Carmelo Bene. In 2015, he began to compose a study of the Italian actor Gian Maria Volonté and continued his acting training with the movie director Mirko Locatelli in Milan with whom he will shoot two films in 2016 and 2017 as an actor. The ten-year interest and the deep study in Erik Satie coinverged in an exhibition that took place from December 2016 until January 2017 in Perugia, Trieste and in Tuscany. In 2018 the work “Cadeau” was chosen to be permanently exhibited inside the spaces of the contemporary art museum of Perugia. In 2018 he continued his research on “material sharing of memory” applied to sounds, which led him to discover new forms of awareness applied to everyday life.
In 2019, he creates the Association Officina Sonora, with a view to promote the study of sound and its interaction with the environment (soundscape).
ADRIANA SPĂTARU
Adriana Spătaru was born in 1988. She is interested, among others, in semiotics, etymology and mythology, mainly as manifest in the Romanian folklore. She studied media and cultural analysis in Stockholm, where she conceived and implemented a project based on role playing relying on the recreation of ancient myths. She is also a lawyer specialized in intellectual property, that she studied extensively during a master’s programme in Stockholm. Inspired by the strong IT start-up community in Stockholm, she directed her intellectual property studies on the interaction between technological developments and legal regulations. She returned to Bucharest, where she is a lawyer, she is part of the Association Officina Sonora, she studies foreign languages and she dances.
